SEF bid farewell to Routes 2 Success
July marked the end of Routes 2 Success which the South East Forum funded for the past 2 years. However the legacy will live on with interactive activities available on the Routes 2 Success website and a full workshop pack available for Careers and School staff to continue to support young people in schools.
Routes 2 Success worked aimed to work with 24 schools across Edinburgh, Lothians, Borders and Forth Valley to promote college as a possible route for S2/S3 pupils. With the aim to inform learners about a range of opportunities including Skills for Work and vocational programmes in college as positive options for S3 and/or S4 and prepare learners in order that they can make a successful transition from a school to college environment.
In the past year Routes 2 Success has worked with 519 young people in schools delivering 3 school based workshops and a college visit with these young people. The programme was delivered with Careers staff and with College students who helped to give pupils a real idea of what studying at college was really like.

Routes 2 Success engaged the students at a key time when they were making subject choices and opened their minds to exploring different pathways through learning and potential careers. The campus visits and college experience worked well in preparing youngsters for either school college or post school courses.”

School and Beyond Interactive – A useful interactive tool that young people can explore on their own or as part of an activity to find out about the range of routes and options available when leaving school. Featuring: Films with real student case studies talking about their experiences and advice from Lectures on courses and qualifications.
Life Choices – An online interactive game where you select a Character, an area of interest and explore the game to find out more about this area and find out how to get more information.
All About you - An online, quiz style interactive to help inform young people of the options available at college.
Routes 2 Success Workshop Workbook – The workbook provides you with 3 different workshops to be used with young people to help them to explore careers and moving on to college after school.
