The report highlights the following key results:

Those from the most deprived areas of Scotland were about 64 per cent as likely to study HE as those from less deprived areas in 2007-08.

The report also shows that females participate more than males in higher education and this is an ongoing trend among all female age groups.

Participation rates in distance learning have also increased by 17 per cent in terms of headcount rates.
