The college has become the first Scottish College to offer an official Open University ‘Learning space’. This is a new project for the OU and is built on extensive feedback from the colleges, academic and institutional research to make a case for an innovative approach to student support that builds on the synergy between the colleges as local, familiar places for learning and the OU’s investment in online support. The ‘Learning Space’ facility will give Open University students and staff across Dumfries and Galloway access to a range of support and study facilities within the college at both the Dumfries and Stranraer campuses. This will include IT facilities and support, library services, social spaces where OU students can get together and information about OU study opportunities.
