Shake-up vow to boost exam standards

Marking of university degrees is to be shaken-up in the wake of concerns about standards, it was announced yesterday.
A review will examine the use of external examiners to ensure there is a “robust” marking system in place, Professor Steve Smith, president of vice-chancellors’ group Universities UK (UUK) said.
