Progression conference launched – date for your diary
Learners who have benefited from the Wider Access Forums will be among a stellar line up of speakers presenting at Holyrood magazine’s forthcoming conference ‘From College to University: Improving Progression’.
The Scottish Government Minister for Skills and Lifelong Learning will deliver the keynote opening address at the event, taking place on Tuesday 14 December in Edinburgh.
Fully CPD certified, the day will explore how we can ensure that progression to higher education is a viable option for those following non-traditional learning routes, based on merit and free from discrimination. What will looming public spending cuts mean for articulation and access agreements, and how can fairness and transparency be incorporated into the admissions process? Join the discussion and help influence policy in the run up to the Holyrood elections.
Other speakers include:
- Brian Lister OBE, Principal & Chief Executive, Stevenson College Edinburgh
- Professor Bernard King CBE, Convener, Universities Scotland and Principal, University of Abertay
- Ali Jarvis, Council Member and Chair, Access and Inclusion Committee, Scottish Funding Council
- Janet Graham, Director, Supporting Professionalism in Admissions
